Beary Christmas

Lilly is the Challenge leader over at Sassy Cheryls this week an she wants us to make something with furry friends.  I chose this little Bear Hug because I love it.  I decided to make a Christmas card out of it because I am going to need a bunch in the next month and I have not even started on my Christmas cards yet.

The papers are by My Minds Eye and the sentiment was made by me on my computer.  I used my Prisma colored pencils and Gamasol to color the bear because I ran out of ink in the Copic I was using and had to start over.  The little girl is colored with my Copics.  Christmas is a time when we dress up like gaudy presents and let our inner flashy selves shine through.  I used Stickles to add some sparkle to her vest, hairbow and skirt.  And since I can't seem to make a card without ribbons or buttons, I chose ribbon and bow this week.  The scalloped border punch is from Stampin Up and the presents border punch is a Martha Stewart punch.

Hope you enjoyedmy card.  Why don't you click on the Beary Christmas title above and pop over to Cheryls Challenge Blog and join us.  We get a new challenge every week and you get to use Cheryls fabulous digis on your projects.  Now how much fun is that?

WOYWW

Well it is Wednesday again and if you are one of Julia's crazy faithful followers you know what that means.  SNOOPING TIME.  Time for all of us crazy crafters to go visit each other and see what everyone is working on, or what they have bought and we just can't live without!  Click on the WOYWW title above and you will pop right over to Julia's.  We can't share a cup of coffee or tea, but we do share funny stories and tips and bits of gossip, so come join our Wednesday  International Party.  Try it, you will like it!

So what do I have on the ole workspace today.   There is the basket of seashells card.  This was made by my Inky Digit friend Lisa.  I won her card a couple of months ago and we want her to teach us how to make it, so she asked me to take a pic of it and email it to her to refresh her memory.  The Sunflower card was our project tonight.  Inky Digit pal, Lynn taught us how to make this delightful sunflower.  Aren't these ladies talented.  I keep telling them they need to get a blog and join us.  There is a present for me from Inky Digit pal Susan.  She bought me this cute little children on a park bench stamp I wanted and couldn't find.  Susan couldn't stay for class to night because her little Yorkie, Expresso, had surgery today.  She had to stay and administer TLC.  I have to admit she did look pretty worried when she stopped by tonight.  I know all you crafters are animal lovers, so say a little prayer for Expresso.

Last thing interesting on my desk is my How To Book for Techniques.  I am trying to decide what to do for my Christmas cards this year and I am searching for inspiration and so far the "well is dry".  Maybe I will get some inspiration when I visist everyone's workspace this week!  Hope you enjoyed your visit with me this week. I will try to get by to see everyone too!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog 33

Caroline
The Sassy Girls wanted us to show some dimension today.  Well this easel card is jam packed with dimension! The Happy Birthday is popped up the hat that Sassy is popping out of is popped up.  Sassy is popped up the ballons are attached with wires are are free standing which fold down for mailing. And that tulle bow puffs out all ove the card.

Thank goodness I didn't have to mail this baby!  I seem to do that all the time.  I get so carried away with making the cards, I forget all the extra postage plus the special trip to the post office so I can weigh it and see just how much postage to put on!  One of these days I will make a flat card that takes only 1 stamp to mail.  Don't hold your breath waiting for it, but I will post it if I ever make one!   Ha Ha

I have three granddaughters and one kinda adopted who is the daughter from bestie friend Jeni who is kinda like an adopted daughter-in-law.  It is really crazy, but when you get down to it, we have all been like family been since Jeni married my son-in-law's brother.

All 3 girls are very close and competitive so I decided to use the same image for thier birthday cards this year. I have posted three  of them before, but I thought it might be fun to see them all posted again.  It gives you a chance to see the differences in each of their personalities!

WOYWW

Whoa, here it is Wednesday again and I never even got to snoop around everyone's blogs last week.  Sorry, I missed all the goodies everyone had to offer.  My company has all gone home now and I am back to work so my routine has returned and should be relatively calm until the holidays set in.  Plenty of time to finish those Christmas cards and handmade gifts.  Optimistic aren't I? Ha Ha

Well as you can see I have a messy desk today.  I am working on a Birthday Card for a friend who adores pink.  I am following a sketch challenge so I will be posting it  as soon as I finish.  I even left all my punch confetti from my MS punch.  Have you ever tried using those little bits? They can really add details to a card and a great representation for the word "scrapping"!

Lot's of pink papers and pink inks.  I kept trying different shades until I found ones I like.  There sure are a lot of shades of pink and I really didn't find the perfect one.  Sounds like a good excuse to buy some more.  Whatcha think?

I wanted to hi-light someone's blog today.  Sarah the Stressed Stamper has promised to post pictures of her decadent pedicure where little fishies nibbled on her toes.  I haven't seen it yet, but I plan on popping over to her place immediately after I post this.  I bet you won't want to miss that.  Here's a link to her blog.http://www.stressedstamper.blogspot.com/

Halloween Boogie

Found this little image over at Create With TLC.  If you want him click the title above and go pick him up.  He's free. This dancing dude reminded me of my Grandson and I had to make him into a card.  My Grandson loves life and loves to make people laugh (sometimes too much to the dismay of his teachers).

My papers are all from my stash.  I colored the image with my copics and cut out the top of the image and left the bottom in a square for interest (and to cover up where I colored outside of the lines, tee hee hee).  I wanted the Scarecrow to pop out from the table, so I popped him up and glued the edges to the card.  It gave the image a curved effect. The bow is from Michaels and resembles a spider web.  I cut the musical note from a Sizzix die and distressed the edges with Soot Black distress ink.  I printed the image on my computer and cut it into a banner shape. The ends and middle are glued directly to the card, but I used two pop dots on either side to give it a ripple effect.

Only two more weeks before the Goblins and Gouls come a visiting, the witches a riding and the ghosts a booing.   Halloween will come in with a fright and last only one night!

Flying By To Say Hi

I made this card for one of my 5 grandchildren.  I now have all 5 cards done so I finally ( I think) finished with Halloween.  I just love the holiday and there is so much out there to stir your imagination.  I may still make some treat bags and I will post them if I do, so check back by.

The Sassy Girls want us to do paper-piecing this week.  I have paper pieced the witches dress and hat, used my copics to color her and double popped her up to simulate flying.  I left her legs and the broom free to dangle and it looks so cute in person.    The black and orange polka-dot paper is from Frances Meyer and the rest of the paper is from Stampin Up. The large stars are a Sizzix die cut and the small stars are (I think) Creative Memories stickers.  I popped a few peach colored jewels in the sky for effect.  The little frog is a stamp from Stampin UP and I colored him and popped him up too for dimension.  The ribbon is from Michaels $1.00 bin and the scalloped ovals are punches.  The flying by sentiment is from my stash and I don't know who made it.  There is a little orange heart button on the bow from my stash too.  I used one of my favorite card styles and that is the easel card.  I just love the way it displays the card.  My grans keep these on their shelves in their room, so it also serves as a little Halloween bling for their rooms too.

Hope you enjoy and Happy Haunting to all!

SCARECROW GREETINGS

It was my turn to teach a card at my Inky Digits Card Club Tuesday.  I wanted to teach the crayon resist technique.  I found this precious Scarecrow on Create With TLC, a freebie download and printed it out.  Stamped one of my Happy Halloween sentiments under it, saved it again to my computer and printed out the 15 copies that I needed for my class.  I colored the scarecrow and sentiment with my copics and then colored over my coloring with a white crayon.  I put the nestibilities frame back over the white paper and sponged the entire image with yellow ink.  I sponged a little pumpkin ink around the edges for effect, lifted the nestibilitie off the paper and rubbed  the whole thing with a paper towel.  That cleans any ink off the image, sets it and spreads the wax around to give the image a sheen.

Added a bunch of layers, my MS fence punch, a ribbon, flower, some leaves, button and twine and I was done.  The Inky Digit ladies enjoyed the technique.  My SIL went to club with me that night and as a Newbie, made a perfect card.  Try the technique if you haven't yet and let me know what you think.  It is a fun one!

I read about this website on my friend Sarah The Stressed Stamper's Blog and thought I would enter it in their challenge.  She just made their DT and invites everyone to check it out.  I think Friday's challenge will be her first submission, so hop on over and check it out.  To get there easily, click on the title above and it will pop you there.  Here is the address to Sarah's Blog http://stressedstamper.blogspot.com/.  Check her out and give her a little Bloggie Love

Don't miss out on all the fun over at the TLC Creations either.  They offer a lot of free images and sentiments, so be sure and check them out too.  Here's their link.  http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/

WOYWW

Well here it is WOYWW again.  This week has just flown by for me.  My SIL and BIL are still here from Wisconsin and I haven't had much crafting time.  Lots of fun and family.  I am going to be so sad for them to go home on Saturday.  I plan to drown my sorrows in card making and since Monday is a bank holiday here, I will have three days to play!

I don't have any projects in the works so I thought I would show you all my storage, supplies and tools.  I still have more tucked under my desk, but I forgot about them when I was snapping pics.  The last picture is to show my craft table all clean and set with my Halloween placemats.  Doesn't it look sad clean? (It' won't on Saturday, HaHa)!

My SIL wants me to thank all of you for your kind comments and words of encouragement on her posting last week.  Her God-Daughter Brenda belongs to a card making club in Milwaukee and Janet is going to join it when she gets home.  I think she is definitely hooked.  Maybe one day she will even have a Blog of her own.

If you are new to this WOYWW  craze and want to know what it is all about, click on the WOYWW title above and it will pop you over to Julia's Blog.  She is the one who started all the fun and now over 100 people post pics of their workspace every Wednesday.  Hop on over and do some snooping for yourself, it is addictive I promise.

I am off to some snooping of my own.  Have a great week!

One Lovely Blog

I just was awarded a "One Lovely Blog" award from my "mate" Sarah the Stressed Stamper.  This is a lovely gift that I have to pass on to 15 other people.   This will take some thinking and  I will be doing this in the next day or so.  So check back often to see who gets the honor!  In the mean time, click the One Lovely Blog title above and it will pop you over to see what Sarah is up too.  She has a great blog filled with little stories about what she has going on in her life and pictures of some really great cards too.

My first Blog Award.  Can you tell how excited I am?
