The ever-so-talented Kecia is hostessing the Sassy Cheryl Challenge this week and being a school teacher (God Bless Her) she wanted to see some school images. My children are all grown and even my Grandchildren are in high school or college. The biggest thing about back to school here is football games.  Both of my children and my precious SIL graduated from the University of South Carolina so it's Garnet and Black all the way.  My granddaughter cheers for her high school so I will have to do a blue and white card, but that will be a later post.

Cheryl gave the design team a sneak peek at this little darling before she it was finished with it.  I don't think she will ever do that again.  We wouldn't stop bugging her to finish it.  You know how artists are, you just can't rush them and we did try!  She call this Put On Your Game Face Sally.  Isn't she adorable?  Just click here if you would like to color her up in you favorite team colors.  I am going to use her on a scrapbook page too.  I am envisioning her in the lower left corner with rolling footballs up and across the page.  I think I will be making several cards with her too.  Navy and Gold for Notre Dame, Red and Gold for the Redskins, both for my football coach brother.  A most beautiful Green and Yellow for my beloved Green Bay Packers.  I think I will just print out a page or two of them and start coloring.  Then they will be ready when I need them.

My card is a side step card and I gave you three views of it.  The black dp is from Hobby Lobby and I have had it for years.  The other embellishments were cut from a Graphic 45 paper.  Easy peasy and fun fun fun.  That's they way I like them!

What does back to school mean to you?  Grab yourself a Cheryl Alger digi or stamp and show us your ideas.  Please remember to qualify for the prize you must use a Cheryl Alger image, but it can be purchased form anywhere.  It does not have to come from Sassy Cheryl's store.  We would love to see you join us, so click here and see what the rest of the Design Team has created for you.

Have a great week and happy crafting!

Spots and Dots

Hello my dahlings!  I am the sassy hostess over at Sassy Cheryl's this week and I have challenged everyone to use spots or dots in their design this week.  I had something different in mind for my card but when I  was browsing the store, Noah's Prize Winning Pumpkin stole my heart .  He is so darling and so very proud of his pumpkin.  I bet he could win a Blue Ribbon at the State Fair..

The paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle which I found at my LSS Scrapbooks By The Sea.  The ribbon and paperclip are from my stash.  The charm is a Bo Bunny and I used orange embroidery floss to hang it with.  My husband is my go-to critic and he thought I should add something around the picture so I popped on some orange and green "Candy" with on foam dots.

I would so love to see everyone enter the challenge this week.  Cheryl has some darling new images in the store and the winner (chosen at random) will be able to select 2 of them from her store.  Remember any Cheryl Alger design qualifies for our challenges.  You can use images from Squigglefly and Kraftin' Kimmie too.  So grab yourself a Sassy Cheryl design and something dotted and get to work.

Need some inspiration?  Hop over to the Challenge Blog and see the delightful creations my DT Sistahs have come up with this week.

Have a fabulous week and Happy Crafting!

Hugs,

Linda

Merry Christmas From Noah and Sally

Jasmina is the hostess this week at Sassy Cheryl's this week and she chose lilac/lavender as the theme.  Oh my the Design Team sure ran the gamut with cards this week.   We showcased frilly, silly and spooky.  You just never know what the crazy, sassy gals will come up with.  Be sure to pop over and check all the lavender/lilac creations.

I decided to make a bit of a magical Christmas card.  I used my rubber stamp set of "We're All Ears".  I used the ears hat stamp and stamped a variety of lavender and lilac papers from my stash.  I then fussy cut them out and glued them all in the shape of a Christmas Tree.  Sally and Noah were colored with Copic Markers and Stickles.  I stickled the tree a bit too.  You can't have too much sparkle on a Christmas card, can you?

The snowflakes are punched and a lilac gem is added to the center.  The base of the tree is a flower pot cut with a Sissix Die.  Are you in a purpley mood.  I sure hope so.  I would love for you to join our challenge this week.  Grab your favorite Cheryl Alger stamp or digi and purple it up.  Hint:  there are some precious new ones in the store so pop over and add a new one to your collection.  The rubber stamp sets are on sale this week so hurry a get one while they last.  There are a limited number left.

Have a great week my crafty friends.

Plantin' and a Growin' Sassy Style

Pull Out Insert

Sassy Raggedy aka Joann is the hostess this week and she wants us to create with "something off of the card".  I had this idea to show the flower growing bigger and bigger by pulling it out of the top.  When I went to make my insert, the design took a mind of it's own and this is the result.  I thought it looked pretty that way, so I just went with it.

The card looks like it was a lot of work, but actually it came together quite quickly.  It is the one card I haven't had to play with incessantly.  I chose my paper first to compliment my digi from Sassy Cheryl's Shop called "Whatcha Grown' Max and Maddie".  The paper is Graphic 45,The Bohemian Bazaar collection.  Love the vivid colors here and the paper is double sided and has a nice heavy weight so it worked well for the card design.  I used Copics  to color my digi and mounted it on black cardstock and then onto the Blue DP.  I cut some grass out of the green paper that is from Bohemian Bazaar.  I then used a tape runner on the sides and bottom of the back of the blue DP and adhered it to a yellow print.  I left the top open to create a pocket for the tag.

I then cut an additional yellow piece the same size as the pocket and cut it in half vertically.  I punched a lacy border on the inside edges using a MS punch.  I scored the outer edges at 1/2 " and  used red line tape to secure this to the blue pocket.   The blue floral strips are cut from DP of the same Bohemian collection.  It hot glued the red button lady bugs and wrapped some bakers twine around them.  The flower pots come with the stamp set so I colored them and fussy cut them out and mounted on the front panels.  The tag is cut with a lattice rectangle Spellbinder. the Stamp is a set from Close To My Heart called Friendship Bouquet.

It's fun coming up with something different each week.  It always amazes me to see the cards my DT sistahs and the challenge participants come up with.      Keep creating crafty people and please share with us this week at Sassy Cheryls.

Thanks for popping in for a visit.  Hugs!

I will also be entering this in the following Challenges:
