Good Morning Sunshine

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge this week is "Bling In The Sun With a Sassy Cheryl Image".  The first image that came into mind was to use the Sassy Cheryl Personal Use stamp for my card.  I have used her many times before making her pop out of cakes and sunflowers, but this time it didn't work.  I tried cutting the face and upper torso in a circle, I tried fussy cutting the upper torso.  Nothing looked right.  So I decided to use a smaller Sassy and put the whole body out in front of a super duper sun (Ecco Park Paper Co, A Perfect Summer, 6x6 pad).  Wallah, the final results that soothed the inner turmoil in my demented crafters mind.  LOL.

Now to decorate the card and provide some balance.  I went to my LSS, Scrapbooks By The Sea and prowled the aisles looking for ideas for the sentiment.  I wanted to do a banner and I found these shaped pieces of mini  burlap by  "Canvas Home Accents".  I anchored one to the card with some coordinating bakers twine, typed up the sentiment and printed on regular printer paper.  I liked the look of fabric the paper made.  to "bling" it up. I found this delicious blingy flower and popped on the canvas for a shabby-chic look.  Finished the bottom off with a EK Success edge punch and called it complete.

This is my last time to enter the Sassy Cheryl Challenges for awhile.  I am so excited to announce that I have been chosen to be on their DT for the next 3 months. Next week I will post as a designer. So be sure and check back to see what my first DT card looks like.

In the mean time click here and check out all the awesome cards the DT has created to inspire you.  You can also see the list of the other lucky ladies that have been selected.  Do yourself a big favor and click here to pop into Cheryl's Digi Shop and see all the new creations.  I mean to tell you, this girl is in a design frenzy.  She is popping out masterpieces daily.  She is to the digi world what James Patterson is to the literary world.

Additional Challenges I plan to enter are:

Happy Beach Day

Those Sassy Sun Loving Gals over at Sassy Cheryls want to see some summer fun this week.  This is what I consider summer fun.  Heading for the ocean, plopping down on a lounge chair, reading a summer romance  and taking a little nap.  Sassy Sally probably has something different in mind though.  She has her towel and floaty swim ring with her..  Looks like she is going to have a perfect day to soak up the rays.  Barely a cloud in the sky and the sun is bright and sparkly.  Yep she is in for a great day.  Hope she remembered the sunscreen.

My image is called Sally and Bella Head to the Beach. and you can make her your by clicking on the link and popping over to Cheryl's shop.  Let me give you advance warning, it is addictive.  But oh you will have fun while you are there.

My DP is from my stash and I  believe it is from My Minds Eye.  I got it last year, so I am not sure if it is still available.  The button was in my stash and  the tag is punched using a sentiment I created in MS Word.  I was sitting there looking at my card deciding what else it needed.  I decide a little doodling would be nice so I doodled.  Problem with doodling is it is not erasable if you don't like the end result.  Well the jury is still out on whether I like it or not, but it is too late now.  It is staying.

I am of to post this on Sassy Cheryl's Blog.  My week has been a busy busy one.  I haven't been able to do any blogging, but I hope to catch up later tonight or tomorrow.  Til then have a wonderful day ya'll.  Enjoy the summer sun and don't forget your sunscreen.

Hugs,

Linda

Olive You Forever

Now I am not a martini type gal.  My beverage of choice is wine or margaritas, but these little guys made martinis look like so much fun.  I had to make a card with them.  These House Mouse stamps are so easy and fun to color.

It is my last card as a Guest Designer for House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenges.   It definitely won't be my last House Mouse card.  I have fallen head over heels in love with meeses.  Never thought I would say that lol.  But these little guys are all too stinkin cute. I have so enjoyed my term as a GDT and all of the  DT gals have been so kind and fun to work with.  Thank you guys, you all rock!

The challenge this week is anything goes but use a charm.  I didn't have a charm I wanted to use for this card, so I made my own charm using the sentiment.  The ribbon is covering it up, but there is a margarita brad up on the edge of my sentiment charm.

Well you be sure and pop over to the Challenge Blog and see all the lovliness the DT has created to challenge your creativity this week.  I hope to see you all posting creations on the blog.  Take care and remember to find some personal time for crafting.  It will keep you sane and ca

Here I go out with a major boo-boo.  My last GDT post and it posts late.  I must have clicked save instead of post and it went to draft status.  Sooooo very embarrassed and sorry.

Love ya,

Linda

Go Daddy

I'm on "A Roll" this morning with this card.  Actually the digi is called "Driving Miss Maddie" from Sassy Cheryl and Max is indeed driving Maddie.  From the look on her face she is scared to death lol.  Hang on tight Maddie.

When I first started working on this card I had the idea to turn it into a Father's Day card since it is Sunday here in the US.  But as I was coloring it reminded me of my hubby and myself when we were young.  Oh my, he was going to conquer the world, make his first million and retire at 25.  I believed every word he said and followed him everywhere he led me.  Our first card was quite similar to this box with wheels held together by duct tape.  Now I think I may use this as our 47th Anniversary Card. (He never made his first million but I am still following him everywhere he goes.)

I colored with my Copics and fussy cut the image out.  I colored the tape gray and used some Crackle accents to make it resemble Duct Tape.  The road is a border piece I picked up at Walmart years ago for a dollar.  The DP is from The Little Yellow Bicycle's Splash Collection I bought at my LSS, Scrapbooks By The Sea.  The silver dots are Nail Head stickers that I love because they are self adhesive and flat for mailing.  I covered the front of the tag with DP and the bunting is a wood piece from my stash.  I painted it with Claudine Hellmuth's  Silk paint.  The sentiment is some alphabet stickers from my stash.

I am entering this in the Sassy Cheryl "For A Guy/Boy" challenge this week.  They are also having a DT call and looking to add some new Sassettes to their team.  So do yourself a favor, check out some of her delightful digis and join in the fun.

I also want to enter this in the Make It Monday Anything Goes Challenge.  I love this challenge too because I get to see so many different creations every week.  Good spot for casing too.  LOL

Evy, Ivy, Over

Look at our little Maddie.  She is just jumpin rope in this field of flowers.  You know Maddie loves flowers (she has one on her hat for goodness sakes).  Can you hear her chant?

Cinderella, dressed in yellow
Went downtown
to meet her fellow
How many kisses
did she give?
One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six

Blue Bells, Cockle Shells,
Evy, Ivy, Over

I love coffee, I love tea,
I love the boys and the boys love me.
How many boys did I kiss?
One Two Three Four....

It's Sassy Pat's turn to challenge us this week over at Sassy Cheryl's and that little ole' Southern gal wants to see Pink.  So here it is Miz Pat my pink card with a bit of girly, girly color thrown in.  I chose, "It's A Jumping rope Kinda Day" from Sassy Cheryl's shop for my card this week.  It was a tough decision, because Cheryl has drawn some new Maddie and Max digis that I sooooooooo want, but the pink challenge narrowed my choice somewhat. Let's see what next week's challenge is, I have my eye on the telephone and swing and box plane and.......LOL

They are having a DT call for the next two weeks, so pop on over and check it out.  The DT has some pretty pretties in pink to inspire and you don't want to miss those.  Grab your pink stash and a SC digi and see what you can come up with.  It will be fun.

I am also entering this in the following challenges:

4 You Dad

Here is my third card as Guest Designer for House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenges.  This week they want to see your male cards.  I know, I know, I can hear your groans.  But, suck it up buttercup.  You know  you have all these special guys in your life and they are just not into flowers, lace, ribbons and glitter.
We have Father's Day coming up here in the US so it is a perfect timing.

Golf was a favorite of my husband's and mine before hubby got so sick, so this little guy tugged at my heart.  We still love golf, but now we watch it on TV.  He is a Phil Michelson fan.  I like Tiger Woods.  I know, I know, Tiger isn't a very nice person, but darn that guy can swing a golf club.  Can't help myself, he just amazes me when he is on his game.

This little guy is a brave child holding the ball on his head.  Sure does have a lot of faith in his Dad's swing.  I don't think I could  be that brave.  Nor would I allow one of my children to act as a Tee for their father! Remember  William Tell?

I colored the little guy with Copics, fussy cut him and the tees out.  Popped him on a grass hill made by tearing a piece of DP and inking the edges.  The sky was made with a Darice embossing folder and then sponged with blue ink.  Wasn't sure how to add a sentiment and I tried a flag, but that just didn't look right.  I decided to make a kite shape.  The 4 You is a SU stamp and the DAD is form PTI.  The gold borders are Elizabeth Crafts and the flags and string were created from scraps by yours truly.

So, do yourself a favor and pop on over here to see what the rest of the amazing designers have created for your inspiration.  You know you need some new ideas to case for those darling men in your life.  We would love for your to join in the fun too.  The challenge runs for  two weeks, so you have plenty of time to get designing.
