Shhh It's Cloie's Birthday

I made this card for a special young lady's birthday.  Her Mom is a friend of mine and we are all so proud of Cloie.  She just finished her first semester at college and made the President's List with a 4.0 GPA.  At Christmas they bought her a car and hid it at my house.  It was so much fun being in on Cloie's surprise.  I guess I am not only Sassy, but I am Sneaky too!

The image is called There's A Bee On Your Nose and you can find it here.  Of course it is another delightful design by Cheryl Alger that I absolutely love  I colored it in peach and blue shades with my Copic markers.  I decided to color the bear a dark brown this time and so I used brown and peach papers for my card.  The card stock is all Stampin Up and the musical notes DP is My Minds Eye.  I used my large scalloped circle and circle Nestabilities die cuts.  The ribbon is from my stash and the flower embellishment I made with a scrap of paper from my stash.  I popped a brad in which is from My Minds Eye too.  I typed the sentiment on my computer and distressed the edges of some of the papers with distress inks.  I also took a little sparkly chalk and shaded a bit around the white.

I am entering this in Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #43.  We had to use bears this week.  Punish me puleez.  Next to turtles I love bears best.  Fun to make, so why don't you join us.  We would love to see what you can create each week.  Just click here and see what it is all about.

Bashful Buddy

That Sassy Judy over at Sassy Cheryl's has asked us to create a card using a snowman this week.  Well I have several of Sassy Cheryl's precious snowmen, but I just "HAD to have" this little guy.  He is just too cute.  Christmas cards are all done and in the mail, but I have some thank you cards to make.  So many of our customers  bring gifts to us at the bank so we want to send thank you notes.  This year we will make hand crafted notes.   I think this little guy is perfect and we will be making this card.   I will change the tag to say, "thanks so much".  I am going to bring the supplies to work and the staff will cut color and paste the cards.

Card was super easy to make.  I used my Copics to color, Label 10 Nesabilities, red bakers twine, and a Stampin Up Tiny Tags stamps and punch  I paper glazed the heart for a little shine and the ribbon is from my stash.  The stocking paper is Dear Santa from American Traditional Designs, the polka dot is two sided and the outside mat is the flip side of a piece from Scenic Route Paper Co.

SASSY CHERYL'S FEATURED FRIEND #7

Guess what I am Sassy Cheryl's Featured Friend # 7.  That means she will feature my blog all week and I get to show some of the cards I have been working on.  Any of you who follow my blog regularly know how I love Sassy Cheryl's Digis.  I have seen a lot of stamps, both digi and rubber that "I just have to have", but Cheryl Alger's strike a cord in my heart and my memories.  Her creations are so personal to me and from the comments I have been reading on other blogs, they are very personal to many of you too!  Hop on over to her store and treat yourself to one or two of her artworks.  Better yet let Santa know you would absolutely love a gift certificate from her shop.  Go ahead, click right here and check them out!

The digi I used this week is called the Bell Ringer.  I have been in a "brown" mood for awhile now, so I colored him brown with my Copics and topped him off in orchid and gray.  I embossed some ivory cardstock by using the Allegro Cuttlebug folder, rubbed with some Soft Suede ink (Stampin Up) and ran it through my Cuttlebug.  I cut it in half and angled the paper for interest.  The image and mat are cut from Labels #10 Nestabillities.  The ribbon is from my stash and the grey pearls are from Queen & Co.  The paper is from Anna Griffin and I have had it for years.  The snowflake is Martha Stewart.

It is different from what I have been making lately.  I sent it to my brother and his wife  in Virginia, it just kinda felt right for them.  I hope they liked it.

Thanks for popping in and checking out my bog.  I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and the most blessed of New Years!

MISSING BELL

The Polar Express has been a traditional Christmas Eve read for my Grandchildren since they were babies.  My daughter and her family live in Charleston, SC and there is an island full of Christmas lights.  Every Christmas Eve we would have a big dinner and then drive over to see the Christmas lights.  You drive through the park listening to the Christmas Carols, stop at this BIG open fire pit where you roast marshmallows on long sticks.  We then hop back in the car, head for home where the children get to open one present.  We are very tricky in the wrapping and disguise them quite well, because everytime they select the present, it is pajamas.  (You have to have new pajamas for Christmas morning pictures, don't you?)  Then we sit down to read the Polar Express.  Every year one child is selected to "Hold the Bell" while we read it.  They get to ring it everytime we turn the page.  After we finish the story it is time to prepare the special cookies and milk for Santa, the carrots for the reindeer and the cheese for the Christmas Mouse.  Then it's off to bed and I bet there was more than one dream about riding a train to the North Pole.

This is my creation using Cheryl Alger's Missing Bell Stamp.  I wanted to create a card in remembrance of that wonderful story.  It is now a movie and a family tradition to millions of people.  I hope you like it and have your own Christmas traditions filled with magic.  Remember you just have "TO BELIEVE!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge 41

This week Sassy Cheryl's Challenge was to merge two of her images.  Gosh it is hard enough to pick only one, but choosing only two is just as hard.  I love all of her images.  They are just plain fun to color and make cards with.    I chose the Primitive Christmas Tree and the Christmas Moose.  Isn't he cute all tangled up in the lights and the wreath?  Poor thing ended up doing the splits when his legs tangled.  Hope it wasn't too painful for the pitiful little cutie.

I colored my images with my Copics and used all papers and punch outs from the I Believe collection from Cosmo Cricket. I have used this line so much all season.  I bought my papers from the Aww Shucks Scrapbook Store and I already spotted a Spring line.  Looks like I will be using more Cosmos Cricket paper.

How do you like that border punch?  It is the MS Double Loops punch.  I received it as a gift at my Inky Digits Club and it was perfect for this card.

I f you would like to play along with the Sassy Cheryl girls, click here and join in.  She has been giving away some of her signature items during the Christmas season so you have two chances to win.  Try it once, and I promise you will be hooked!

Show Me Thursday

Well hooray for me I won the Show Me Thursday Challenge last week!!!  That means I get to choose a digi from Sassy Cheryl's Shop of goodies!  Oh so much pressure, which one will I choose?  Oh man what delightful pressure!  Thank you Cheryl I do so love to win....  If you would like to win a Sassy Cheryl image, grab your camera take a picture of what you are working on and post right here.

I have two pictures to show you this week.  The first one is a view of my crowded, though organized workspace.  Up in the front is my tray of Christmas cards and Teddy Bear address book.  I am trying to work on addressing my cards and I have a goal to have them all finished and in the mail this weekend.  I am even staying home from my Saturday Stampers covered dish luncheon to finish.  :(

The desk also has my newest MS punch set that I received at my Inky Digits Club Tuesday night.  My Santa hat is sitting there.  I wore it to the party Tuesday night, but I was cold tonight, so I put it on my head while coloring.  My sneaky son snuck in and took my picture and sent it to my Granddaughter , so I took it off.  Sneaky boy now they have evidence to blackmail me with.  I think I will shave one of his eyebrows off when he is sleeping.  Ha Ha

The second picture is the finished project that was on my Show Me Thursday last week. Some of you asked to see the finished project.  Pictured above are two of the notepads.  You can see the outside view and the inside view.   I made it real quick using  3 1/2" x 8" note pads I bought  at the craft store.  I cut card stock 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4" and 4 3/8" glued the notepad to the card stock, wrapped a ribbon around it and decorated the front.  I am still looking for a special pen to attach and it will be finished.

Off to snoop!

Fa La La La La La La La La

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge this week is All About Love.  I think this little darling is in love with dancing, Christmas and her dance partner.  I even chose heart paper  to go with the stocking paper.  She sure is decked out in her ruby slippers and glitter dress for the Christmas Dance.
My paper is all from my stash.  The card stock and the Merry Christmas stamp is Stampin UP,  The glitter is Stickles and the banner was computer generated.  The  circles are cut with the Nestabilitites Large Circles.  I colored it with my Copics and punched the hearts out with a small McGill punch.  I stitched her up with a sewing machine.

If you would like the opportunity to win some prizes, click here and you will arrive on Cheryls' Blog.  There you will be able to participate in a Blog hop.  It is a first for Sassy Cheryl and has a drawing for a prize at every stop!  Hurry now, time's a wastin!

Show Me Thursday #4

Hello Snoopy friends.  Here's a peek at what I am working on right now.  I am making some little notepads for Christmas gifts.  Decided not to do the Christmas theme since they will be using them after Christmas.  They are real handy little gifts to store in your purse or use the magnet to put on the fridge.  I am using the Lady Bug Theme.  I bet Sassy Cheryl's has an image to match don't you?

Those little pins are from the sewing department at AC Moore.  I am going to decorate them with beads and little trinkets to use for card embellishments.

That's about it this week.  Not too much to see.  I have to get busy addressing my Christmas cards.  Unfortunately I spent more time making the outside and neglected to make the inside sentiments so I need to get those done first.  Better "shake a leg" or my cards won't go out and my friends and family will call me  the Grinch!

I'm off for a bit of snooping myself.  Wanna join me, click here and you can see which blogs have posted goodies to share.
