Having Blogger Issues?

Got this advice from Krafty Karen and it worked for me.  Blogger issues are only happening with Internet Explorer.  If you are having issues, sign out of Internet Explorer and sign on with Mozilla Firefox or Chrome as your Search Engine.  If you don't have them, you can download them.

I haven't been able to comment on all the blogs for several days.  I am now able to thanks to Firefox.  But I am off to Charleston for the remainder of the weekend, so I will have to catch up when I get back.  I have been able to view your cards and there are some yummy ones out there.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone and a special THANK YOU TO ALL OUR MILITARY AND MILITARY FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST SOMEONE WHILE DEFENDING OUR FREEDOMS.

Hello America I Triple Love You!

I am really in a Patriotic mood today and thanks to Ann English, I have been humming and singing oh so softly under my breath, lol, "It's A Grand Ole Flag".  Check out her blog  and you will be singing too!  This digi is Cheryl Alger's latest creation for her Color Me Challenge called Triple Heart Raggedies.  Aren't those two Raggedies precious.  I chose to color them in earth tones to resemble muslim cloth dolls.  The neutral shade gave me free reign on color splashes for the rest of the card.  The red and yellow DP is My Mind's Eye and the blue DP is from Provo Craft.  The hats and flags are from Jolees and the stars are from a package of brads I bought at Michaels.  Sorry I can't tell you who makes them.  I used my scalloped rectangle Spellbinders and applied everything to SU card stock.  I cut little slits in the Raggedies hands to weave the flag poles into and I paper pieced the red hearts with Scrappin Sports paper.

Happy Memorial Day!

Uh Oh, Oh Spit and Yikes!

Lovin this Patriotic Challenge from Sassy Cheryl but the Devil made me make this card.  I took the oh so very talented Cheryl Alger's Buttercup Susie digi and turned it into an OMG moment.  Sorry Cheryl, I told you the Devil made me do it.  This poor little sweetie is supposed to be holding a sweet flower, but the ole'devil made me do some paper piecing and made her hold a firecracker very close to that lovely face.  I think from the way she is squinting she has realized her mistake.  I really hope she drops the firecracker in time.

I absolutely love our American Flag.  I think the colors are so beautiful and I love to see the wind blow and watch it billow out in waves of red and white stripes.  I just think it is totally awesome.  I love it so much that my home is amply decorated in Americana.  So of course I had a wonderful time making this card.  If I get time, I plan on participating in the Color Me Challenge using red, white, and blue too.

Susie's dress and bows are paper pieced.  I also paper pieced her arms so she could hold the fire cracker and the flag.  The ribbon is from Pure Color (AC Moore) and the embellishments are Jolee's.  Cardstock is SU and the DP is from the Young & Active at the Playground collection from Scrappin Sports.  I used my Stars Embossing folder from Cricut.

I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.  Remember those who have given their lives to allow us to live safely in a wonderful country.  For my blogging friends who are not from America, take a few minutes to remember your own country men and women who have sacrificed for you.  We can celebrate  Memorial Day together.

Birthday Fishes

How do you like my little TeddyBo Fisherman.  Isn't he a cutie patootie.  I have to admit I love the color scheme.  I think I am most proud of my extreme creativity when I colored his boots "camouflage".  BaHaHa.  I was really extremely enjoying my lunch coloring session and wanted to prolong my return to work.  I decided to "get down" with those boots and my little grass strokes.

Actually that was the last day I even got a lunch break.  The rest of this week has been grab a bite and get back out to my office.  It is definitely the Memorial Day Holiday this week and since we live at the Beach we have been SOOOOO busy.

I colored him with my Copics, and the cardstock and the black and white checked is SU, the brown green and camo DP are some I have had in my stash for year.  The sentiment is from PapertreyInk and I used a SU  punch with that.  The brads are from Recollections.

I am entering this card in Stamptacular's BEAR Necessities Challenge.  I Love Bears and TeddyBo is offering a prize to the winner.  I have a wish list from there, so I do hope they choose me.

I am now beginning my much needed 3 day weekend.  Supposed to go to Charleston to visit my daughter, but I think I may put it off until Sunday.  I think I want to sleep very late in the morning get up and hmmmmmm, you guess it, COLOR!  One thing I know is that I am NOT going to the Beach in all this traffic. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and get to do exactly what you want.  Enjoy it and remember to do something nice for a Vet this weekend.  They sure have done something nice for us!!

Happy Birthday Sunshine!

My Dear BIL, Larry in Wisconsin celebrated another Birthday and I couldn't let it pass without sending him some Snark.  Bugaboo's Gus is the most hilarious old geezer and I hope Larry will appreciate this self-portrait his darling brother, my DH selected for the occasion.  Since Larry lives in the city and we live at the beach, we are trying to tempt him to come South for some Sun and Fun.  Gus is already for his beach holiday.  He has his surfboard and beach toys all ready to head out, scope some chicks and catch some waves.

This fun Gus image can be found at Bugaboo Stamps and if you shop before the end of May, you will get him 50% off.  If you are like me you will pick up several at 50% off.  Their characters are too funny.  I colored him with my Copics.  Free handed the surfboard and sun.  The sentiment was created using a sunshine font.  I crackle glazed the beach ball and glazed the bucket and his glasses.  The cardstock was SU and the DP was from the Good Day Sunshine collection at My Mind's Eye.  Finished it off with a bit of twine and some tiny shells from my stash.  I am entering Gus in Bugaboos Dads Grads and Other Celebrations challenge.

On a more sombre note, we were just watching the weather channel and the people out in the mid-west are having another night of deadly tornadoes.  Even the poor people in Joplin, Missouri are under warnings again.  Please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers.  This has been such a horrific spring for them.  If you are from the mid-west as I know some of you are, please stay safe .

Buzzin By To Say Hi!

Sassy Jeni threw everyone into a "tizzy" when she challenged us to use Kraft paper in our creations.  Well everyone took a deep breath, dusted off their Prismas and got to work.  Well girlfriends let me tell you they proved it again, The Sassy Crew is awesome.  They gave us some great inspirations to challenge our little brains.

I for one, love the look of coloring on Kraft paper and using Kraft in my cards but I am NOT  comfortable with my coloring on it.  Have tried it once or twice, and this card took more than one try but I aim to learn.  I dusted off my Prisma Pencils and Gamasol and got to work.  I chose this digi called "String of Spring" from Cheryl Alger.  I keep looking at it wondering why it catches my eye so often and I have decided it is the country feel of it.  It has the elements of whimsy like cute little bumble bees and lady bugs, with buttons as flowers and together they form a whimsical, happy little scene.  This is a "feel-good" digi  that makes me smile.

DP is from My Minds Eye, Good Day Sunshine collection I picked up on a lunch shopping spree at Aww Shucks Scrapbook Store.  The ribbon is from American Crafts ad the Bumble Bee Button is from Michaels.  I made the kite free handed and typed the Buzzin By sentiment in Microsoft Word.  Border punch is MS and the card stock is Stampin Up.  Entering this one in Sassy Cheryls Challenge #64 here.  Why don't you color up some Kraft paper and join us.  If your are too scared to color on Kraft, just cut a piece and glue it to your card.  That will qualify you to enter and maybe win a gift certificate to my favorite shop right here.

Show Me Thursday at Sassy Cheryl's

Here is a peek at some digi's I have been coloring at work. My lunchtime coloring sessions have proven very productive this week (Plus it keeps me and my debit card out of the craft shops).  The Tin Man card on the laptop is a card Lynn taught us at Inky Digits Tuesday night.  He is so darn cute, I just might "have-to-have" the set myself.  The other card is a digi character called Scarlett.  I am working on birthday cards for my SIL & BIL.  The Gus in the front is for my BIL.  Check back, I hope to post the finished products this weekend.

Now that I have showed you mine, show me yours.  Snap a pic of your work area and post it here.  If your number comes up, you will will a gift certificate to Sassy Cheryl's Store.  You can post a pic of anything.  I almost posted a pic of my dog, Bonnie getting a haircut by yours truly, but I sat down and colored instead.  Much more fun and I know she appreciated the reprieve also.

Well I am off to snoop, hope to see you space when I do.

Sassy Cheryl's Ribbons & Bows Challenge

Oh I had fun with this one.  I knew the moment I saw this cutie with the pea pod turned up toes I was going to have to have her.  Then when "perusing" Aww Shucks Scrapbook store, I found this paper and I knew immediately it was a match. It is called "Mia" from the About A Girl collection at Fancy Pants Design.  The green floral is the reverse side of the blue polka dot.  I colored with my Copics choosing colors to match the DP.  I cut a couple of the flowers out from a scrap piece and popped up a couple of flowers to add a little more color and interest.  All my flower centers are buttons from my stash.  The ribbon and hanging sentiment is from my stash and as old as my grandson Finny.  The little flower on her head reminded me of the hats from the Royal Wedding so I popped a silk leaf on the flower for flair.  Border punch is MS and I used large scalloped Nestie to cut out the digi.  And for my dear friend Sarah a little Stickles on her skirt!  Fun Fun Fun.  I have a feeling you will be seeing her again real soon!

If you would like to own Flower Girl, just click here and until tomorrow night at 5:00 you can pick her up for just $2.00.  Hurry up go get her and make your card and link it here for the Ribbons and Bow Challenge
and here for the Color Me Challenge.  You get a double chance to win another digi from Sassy Cheryl.  Can't beat that my friend!

Happy Birthday Big Bob

I have a fabulous son-in-law who is quite the proper gentleman around me.   Bob has the size of John Wayne and the ethics of the big guy.  We hold John Wayne quite high in our households.  So I took the opportunity of Bob's birthday to combine this Mo Manning digi with a John Wayne quote I found over at TLC.  How do you like the combo?

I had this DP that looks like a Western bandanna that I cut into shapes.   The paper has a paisley print, so I used my paisley Cuttlebug folder to emboss black and garnet paper which is attached to some Kraft DP.  I popped a little (cowboy rope) and some brass colored eyelets for embellishment.  The sentiment is popped up with foam tape and everything was distressed with Soft Suede ink from SU.

I am going to enter this in the Ginger Snaps challenge.  They are having a western month and this weeks challenge is "Twine".   I am also entering it in Mo's Challenge Blog.  The theme is summer and I would say this little Hombre is dressed for summer!

Have a Blessed Weekend, Linda

Show Me Thursday at Sassy Cheryls

Look what my DH picked for me.  Magnolias, Hydrangeas and Lantus.  He was outside and walked back in with a big smile and bouquet of flowers from our backyard.  Isn't he a sweetie?  Reminded me of a classic Sassy Cheryl moment.  Cheryl, maybe you should create a husband with a bouquet stamp to go along wih your sweet children stamps.

It is thunderstorming here and I was getting ready to go to the grocery store.  Oh well, guess I'll just have to stay here and craft.  :)  It is really Saturday afternoon (not Thursday) here and I have been cleaning house, doing laundry, washing my sweet puppy Bonnie and crafting in between chores.  (Seem to be having more crafting than cleaning sessions).  Wish I could call Merry Maids.  Anyway it is nice to be off from work and have the time to do all these must-do things.

Hope all of you are enoying your weekend.  Take a pic of what you are doing and share it on the Sassy Cheryl Show Me Challenge.  It runs from Thursday to Wednesday and you get a chance to win a digi from her shop.  Believe me, I have a bunch and I keep on getting more.  If you are like me, you will never get your fill of these Sassy Little goodies.

Hugs, Linda.

Thinking Pink

Sassy Jodi wants us to think pink this week over at Sassy Cheryl's and here's my take on it.  I am in the need for some birthday cards and I had made this little bear before the challenge came out.  I rolled him around my finger for some dimension and sat him on my laptop until I decided what to do with him.  He is so darn cute and I have a very soft spot in my heart for bears.  I used to have bears sitting all over my house until a certain little beagle decided she loved them too.  AAAArrrrrrghhh.

The last time I made this "Sneaky Bear Birthday Cupcake", my DH suggested I glitter the frosting.  Well as usual he is right, but it is so pretty in person.  The light from the camera just didn't capture the pretty color.  I just might have to stop buying Copics and invest in camera equipment and a course in photography.   NOT!!!  :)

Well anyway, I hope you enjoy him and get some inspiration of your own.  Would love to see your take on the challenges at Sassy Cheryl.  Why not, pop over to her shop, pick out an image and play along.  We have made some new friendships in the Sassy Cheryl world and would love to have you join us.  Just click here and see what it is all about!

Recipe:
Stampin Up Cardstock
DP & Ribbon is from my stash
Tag is "Tiny Tags" and punch from SU
Balloons from Cricut "Stretch Your Imagination" cartridge
Glitter is Stampendous
Flames are Stickles
Gems are Queen & Co.

Mo's Digital Pencil Monochromatic or 3D Project Challenge

My sweet Niece Natalie gave birth to her second daughter in January.  Little Sophia is being baptized this weekend and I made this card to send her.  I love Mo's sweet little babies, but this is the first time I have had the opportunity to use one.  Natalie and her girls are all prissy girly girls.  Poor Daddy Mike doesn't stand a chance in his household!  But he smiles all the time, so he must not mind getting all that sweet sugar from his girls.

I colored the digi with soft pink Copics and cut it out.  I attached it to a peach scalloped circle I cut out with myNestabilitie.  The flowers are all from Recollections.  Card stock is SU and DP is from my stash and my friend Jeni's stash.  The green ribbon is from PaperTreyInk and the peach ribbon is from Martha Stewart.  The border punch is a MS one too.  I used a doily (Wilton) and the inside sentiment is a SU one too.

Basically I cut and pieced the paper, sanded the edges and ink distressed the project .   I cut the little chicken out of the same piece of paper as the inside birth announcement.  It is popped up with a 3D glue dot. I have found that using a hot glue gun works best with the flowers.  And for a little Grehn Girly bling, I used Diamond Stickles for the bracelet.

The accordion pattern is one my friend Jeni taught us at our Inky Digits Stamp Club Tuesday night.  She found the pattern here.

Hope you enjoy as much as I did making it.  I was afraid it was too fru fru, but my coworkers loved it so it will stay fru fru!

Check out Mo' s Challenge this week and enter your creation.  They are starting a new guest designer feature today and next Thursday so hurry on over and enter the fun.

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me Thursday

Happy Early Mother's Day my Nosey Sassette Friends.  This week I am working on  finishing an accordian card Jeni taught us at Inky Digits Tuesday night.  I didn't finish my card at class because I wanted to use this Baby Girl image from Mo's.  I am making this card for my niece who is baptising her baby Sophia this weekend.  I am afraid it is going to be late, but it will get there.  I promise.

I am still playing with the embellishments, but check back.  I promise to post the finished card with a picture of the inside too.  It is an awesome card shape I will probably use often.  I will post a link to the tutorial on PaperCrafts that we used.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend filled with pampering and love and if you are lucky enough to still have your Mom and Grandma, share some of that love with them too.

Hugs, Linda

Krafty Karen's 100 Follower Party

Karen wanted to have a party for her 100 follower benchmark.  She has enlisted some really good prizes to give away too.  She asked us to take one of our favorite creations and use it for inspiration to make a new card.  This is what I came up with when I chose my inspiration card.  I really love the ladybug ribbon and the bright colors, so I created a new take on the card.  This is another Sassy Cheryl digi.  I have used it before, but not with these colors.  I also had this new Strawberry Border stamp from Sweet Stamps that hadn't seen ink before.  Funny how you just have to have something and then it takes you awhile to find the use it. (Shhhh! Do you think Paper Crafters have the hoarder disease?)

INSPIRATION CARD
If you would like the chance to win some really good prizes, dig out your favorite creation  and make a new card with it.  Link it up here, you have until May 7.  Regardless whether you want to play or not, do yourself a real favor and check out Karen's Blog.  She is amazing and to know her is to love her.  Pop on over now, hurry up!

Digis used in both cards are from Sassy Cheryls
Sentiment is from Create With TLC

Show Me Thursday #22

Hello to all you snoopy little Sassettes.  It is Show Me Thursday over at Sassy Cheryl's, but it is really Saturday at Linda's house.  Whatever day of the week it is, it is the time we all get to peep into the windows of everyone's work space to see what they are up too.  The Chief Sassette, Cheryl Alger, knows it takes all of us a whole week to get out post up so we get to post when ever we get our spaces clean enough to photograph.

This week you will see an older card that I posted.  I am using it for my inspiration to make a card for Krafty Karen's 100 follower blog hop.  I also have some other images that are colored or waiting to be colored on the table.  The rest is the same ole same ole you see every week.  My Copics who are always with me.  My son told me that he bets I will grab the Copics instead of the photo albums if we have to evacuate during a hurricane.    Hmmm he's probably right.  That green and yellow bag in the lower left corner is a new shopping bag from Scrapping At The Beach down in Pawleys Island.  My DH, the dogs and I took a ride down to Pawleys today an I just had to pop in.  I believe there is a law that says, "When passing a Craft Store, you must stop, enter and pay homage to the proprietor.  Failure to do so is punishable by law"  You all know I follow all laws (except the speeding one, oh yeah, and the one that says you can't put your makeup on in the car on the way to work).  Just Kidding, I only go 5 miles over the speed limit and only put my makeup on when I am late for work.

Check back tomorrow.  I hope to have my card posted for Karen's Challenge and you can tell me what you think.  In the mean time, click here and see what everyone else is working on.  Better yet, grab your camera, snap a picture and enter your space in the Show Me Challenge.  You might just win a gift certificate to Sassy Cheryls' Store.

Hugs for now!
