Muwah, I Love You

Good Monday to you.  Here in The United States we are celebrating the inauguration of our President.  Lots of pomp and circumstance going on. The picture of our Captiol with all the American flags hanging from it was so beautiful.  I do love our flag.  I'm sure you all feel  the same when you see your country's flag flying. Kinda gives me the goose bumps.

I have been making sympathy cards and thank you cards this past week.  I'll  post the rest later this week.  I designed this one for a special person and wanted it to be light and funny.  You have to be careful when sending whimsical or funny cards as sympathy cards.  I believe it is important to know the recipient very well so as not to appear disrespectful.  I know for sure this card will be just what "the doctor ordered' for my recipient.

The image I used is called Fancy Fish.  It was drawn by my good buddy Kim Hecker over at Oak Pond Creations.  I feel pretty safe in saying that when she drew it, she did not think it was going to be used in a Sympathy Card.  But what better than a big sloppy fishy kiss to make someone smile.  OK, I know I am a little strange.  LOL

The fish was colored with Copics and hi-lighted with Prisma pencils.  The black spiky mat was cut with a Cricut "Fancy Frames " cartridge and then Stickled.  The coral is an Impression Obsession and then Stickled.  The sentiment was  computer generated.  I got carried away with the Stickles.  The more I Stickled, the more it screamed, "Stickle Me Please".  The little seashell and paper is from my stash.

I haven't played over at Sassy Cheryls' SMT Blog in awhile, so I will enter this there.  In fact I am going to mosey on over there right now to see what is going on with all her friends.

  1. I love this fish image Linda, it did make me smile, and I am sure the person that gets it will appreciate it.

  2. Wonderful card and fabulous coloring regardless of the occasion!. Great card and I'm sure the recipient will be happy to receive it and know that they are being thought of!

  3. Oooooh, Kim is gonna love what you have done to her fish!! I agree...she was definitely screaming for more stickles. She looks mahvolous. Love the eyelash effect around the image. How DID you do that? ~jeni :)

  4. Oh Linda she looks lovely. You can NEVER have too many Stickles :) I love this bright, cheery card and I know your beautiful crafting will make the recipient smile. Check out Center Stage today at OPC my friend :) Hugs to you <3-Kim

  5. Light and funny it is! I LOVE IT Linda. Totally LOL at that little fish-y face with those eyes. Too cute.
And you're right. . .seeing the US flag flapping in the breeze does give me goose bumps!!!!!
Thanks for playing along in the Sassy Cheryl's SMThursday fun this week.

  6. You are so right about needing to know the person you send a sympathy card too. However, that said, this is a perfect sympathy card for someone with a sense of humor. This fish is wonderful. I also love your picture of our capitol. I am truly proud to be able to say I AM AN AMERICAN.

  7. I find myself in the same situation of needing to make a sympathy card and have no idea on what to make. Your fish brought a little light relief to an otherwise dismal day. Hugs Mrs A.

  8. Love your puffer fish framing with this fun and prettily coloured image, Linda! Hugs, Lesley

  9. OH my, this is absolutely, positively, without a doubt, totally ADORABLLLLE!! Love, love, love it. Super coloring and design for sure!

  10. This is just fantastic Linda, gorgeous colouring, love the glossyness and sparkle and his little adorable..
