Is There A Graduate In The House?

Grandchild #3 graduated from High School  and she is having a graduation party on July 5, 2014 to celebrate.  I have been busy making things for her party and I will share those in another post.  The above two cards  are for Kaylee and her best friend Liza.

I decided to just "girly it up" for Kaylee using papers from K & Company, some tulle, lace ribbon and flowers.  I think pearls and girls coming of age just go together.  I know it is "my generation:, but girls used to be given pearls as a "lady" came of age.  Well my little Kaylee is coming of age, so I used plenty of soft pink pearls on her card.  I chose not to incorporate an image this time letting the beauty come from the words in the verse and the paper and embellishments.  I love the vintage feel of this one.

The blue and yellow graduate is an image from Saturated Canary called Grad Girl 2012.  I love Krista's characters.  They have the biggest eyes and funkiest outfits and poses.  She is one of my favorite digi artists and I rely on her stamps often. You can check out Kristas store by clicking here.  I am a member of Kit and Clowder Face Book Page and one of Alyce's students.  You'll see a lot of Krista's images over there colored up with amazing color combos.  The paper I used is from My Mind's Eye.  To make the mortar board inside the card, I stamped on the DP and fussy-cut it out.  The diploma is a piece of white paper rolled up and tied with a yellow cord.

Challenges I want to enter in:

Robyn's Fetish - Graduation Cards
Scribble and Scrap - Anything Goes

  2. OMG, Linda, your Granddaughters card is so beautiful, and I clicked to enlarge to read the inside sentiment, it is so lovely. What a wonderful way to celebrate this memorable occasion for your Granddaughter. And her best friends card, so fun and colorful, love the sentiment in that one as well.
    Enjoy the celebration with her...........
