I have been selected to join the Digi Doodles Design Team. I discovered how much fun working with these delightful digis could be a few months ago when I won some digis by leaving a comment during a Blog Hop. They even offer a wonderful array of sentiments that are freebies!!!!!!! I will be working with such a nice talented group of ladies. I hope you will enjoy not only my creations but checking out theirs as well. I even get to work with my bloggy buddy, Tammy Hair which I know many of you already follow.
The challenge this week is distressing. When I went to the Digi Doodle's store to select a digi for the challenge, I found this precious Scarecrow on the first page. It is called "Day Off" and I didn't even look further for another image. I instantly envisioned him sitting there in a distressed setting. Maybe I should call it a dE-stressed setting. Fall, to me, is a time of rest nestled in between the hectic summer of living in a resort town and the hustle, bustle Christmas season.
I colored him with my Copics and sponged in a blue sky and sun. I used my TH distressing tool around the edges of the digi and the background paper. I made the background paper myself. I started with 8 1/2 x 11"white card stock and started playing with a sponge and gold, silver, copper and TH Black Soot inks. I covered the entire sheet and then misted it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Tattered Leather. After that dried, I selected a 5" area I liked and cut for background paper. I used a MS fence punch and a Friskar's scalloped leaf border punch. The leaves are from the same border punch. The sentiment is a stamp from Artful Legacy. All other papers are Stampin' Up.
Hope you enjoy and will pop over to join in the Digi Doodles distressing challenge. The other talented DT ladies have provided loads of inspiration for you. Come on, check it out. You just might win a prize!
Have a great day and I will get around to everyone's blog shortly to see all your goodies I have missed.
