Sassy Jeni threw everyone into a "tizzy" when she challenged us to use Kraft paper in our creations. Well everyone took a deep breath, dusted off their Prismas and got to work. Well girlfriends let me tell you they proved it again, The Sassy Crew is awesome. They gave us some great inspirations to challenge our little brains.
I for one, love the look of coloring on Kraft paper and using Kraft in my cards but I am NOT comfortable with my coloring on it. Have tried it once or twice, and this card took more than one try but I aim to learn. I dusted off my Prisma Pencils and Gamasol and got to work. I chose this digi called "String of Spring" from Cheryl Alger. I keep looking at it wondering why it catches my eye so often and I have decided it is the country feel of it. It has the elements of whimsy like cute little bumble bees and lady bugs, with buttons as flowers and together they form a whimsical, happy little scene. This is a "feel-good" digi that makes me smile.
DP is from My Minds Eye, Good Day Sunshine collection I picked up on a lunch shopping spree at Aww Shucks Scrapbook Store. The ribbon is from American Crafts ad the Bumble Bee Button is from Michaels. I made the kite free handed and typed the Buzzin By sentiment in Microsoft Word. Border punch is MS and the card stock is Stampin Up. Entering this one in Sassy Cheryls Challenge #64 here. Why don't you color up some Kraft paper and join us. If your are too scared to color on Kraft, just cut a piece and glue it to your card. That will qualify you to enter and maybe win a gift certificate to my favorite shop right here.

Too cute! This card reminds me of my granddaughter, her nick name is Izzy Bee. I love the colors you chose, they look great against the brown paper!

ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I, too, find coloring on kraft to be challenging...but it's good to step outside your box. :)
ReplyDeleteTizzy shmizzy...everyone is doing a fabulous job! I am so lovin' your little kite!! Clever girl! Beautiful citrus colors, very Summery. Love it! ~jeni :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE YOUR CARD!!! what a pretty pick me up for someone!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, Linda! And, you are so right-an absolute TIZZY! I had no idea how to approach it! I used Gamasol, too, but then read somewhere that you don't need that for kraft paper. I think if I try it again, and I know I should, I might see how it goes without the Gamasol. I have NOT mastered or even achieved a basic level of competency with Prismas! Love my Copics, though:)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you joined us this week for the Sassy Cheryl's challenge!
