Leaves Are Falling the Wind is Blowing and I Miss You!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Sassy Girls are asking us to use pink all month in our Challenges.   This week they wanted us to combine pink with a die cut. I wanted to use this little Autumn Bench Sitter and so I dug into my papers to see how I could incorporate pink into it.  My inspiration came from this colorful paper from My Mind's Eye the Stella and Rose collection.  Loving  all these fall colors and look at the pink.  Who'da thought how fallish, pink could be.

I printed my digi twice, colored it with my Copics and cut out the leaves twice.  I popped the second layer up for dimension and then applied Crackle Accents to it.  I accenter her pom pom with Flower Soft.  The cloud is printed vellum  punched with a  Friskars punch.  I should have used a smaller dimensional pop dot because it is visible and that I am disappointed in it.  :(  I tore the edges of my paper and then sponged with distress inks .

The card is a 12 x 5 1/2".  I scored horizontally at 5" and 10 1/4".  Then I folded up the remaining 1 3/4" to make a bottom flap.  I punched two strips of the DP with a EK Success Large Daisy Scalloped Edge Punch.  The sentiment is a SU stamp cut out with a Spellbinder's Label 21.  Distressed the edges and accented with a Candy.

I like the bright colors and absolutley love this image.  It reminds me of the day I spent at the Memory Bank Scrapbook store in Baraboo.  I sat looking out the big storefront window watching the wind blow colored leaves all over the courthouse lawn.  It was a very serene fall day that I really enjoyed.  I'm sending this card to my precious SIL and BIL to thank them for two wonderful weeks in Wisconsin.  I sure do miss them.

I hate to leave this post on a serious note, but I wanted give you an update on Katie Rentz.  Her Stomach Cancer has progressed and she is in the hospital right now.  The doctors can't stop the bleeding.  They have begun a radiation treatment to see if they can stop the bleeding.  It has been a rollercoaster of a day for them.   I know many of you contributed to her fund raisers and offered prayers for her.   Katie, Kevin, her 3 boys and family need all the prayers they can get.  Please remember them in this difficult time.  Here is a link to Katie's blog.  Kevin is updating it while in the hospital with Katie.  He has posted some wonderful pictures of her family too.

Have a great weekend and God Bless.
