Good Friday morning to you. I have a new announcement. I have been invited to join the Totally Papercrafts Challenge! Isn't that exciting. I love this group of talented, witty crafters and their challenges are so versatile. They don't have a particular product to sell, they just love to craft with paper. Now that is right up my alley for sure! They do promote their sponsors and offer fabby prizes each week. Come on and click here, pop over and check out the goodies posted to inspire you. It is a real treat, I promise you. This week the Challenge is "Stitching", faux or real. Come on you know you can sew with a pen if not a pencil.
I chose to use real stitching for mine. I poked the holes in my card using a Easy Stitches Grid from Paper Pizazz. Then I used some #5 DMC embroidery floss, sat down to watch TV and sewed little x stitches all around. I took the opportunity to pull out my Trendy Trees SU stamps and just played around. I purposely had the "leaves" not line up exactly with the branches for some interest. I have tried it with them perfectly aligned, but I wanted this to look a bit primitive with the stitches. The dots on the ground representing fallen leaves were made with my Copics and I roughly drew a few blades of grass with my Copic too. They are cut out with the Scalloped Rectangle Nestability. I punched a cloud stamped hello using a SU Pendant Park stamp and distressed the edges. Popped on 3 "sewed" buttons and a polka dot ribbon and bow. The green and blue papers are from my stash but the red leaf paper is from DCWV The Green Stack of 70% Recycled Paper. The card base is SU Chocolate and the white is GP.
I have to admit that it was so much fun to play with my rubber stamps again. I have been using digi's for the past year and forgot how much fun stamping with all different colors on a plain white paper can be.
Our Sponsor this week is

A range of chipboard albums, plaques and hangers all in kit form, all in lots of colour choices.
We also stock a selection of quality make charms, brads & gems plus lots of other crafting needs at very reasonable prices"
