I was in a creative mood today and I decided to play with my stamps. I have been challenging myself to use my stamps more and the Less Is More Challenges are perfect to jump start my creativity. This week they challenged us to use one layer and flourishes. I was inspired by Mandi's card where she punched a hole in her card to let the color of the inside flap show through. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the inside color flap.. I don't know the name but it is one of those little 2"x21/4" squares that come in a set. I then sponged some StazOn white opaque ink on top of the flourish. The flourish border is a SU roller called Very Vintage. I used Bashful Blue SU ink and cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Bashful Blue and from the SU set called Whimsical Words. I punched the card border with a SU border punch.
I kept this size to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" to I can put this in my package of cards going to Operation Write Home. The cards all have to be standard in size and are sent out to our troops. I haven't sent a package in a while so I am filling my box to get in the mail. If you would like to participate you can click the badge on my sidebar for details. I am a bit worried that this card may be disqualified because I did put a bit of sparkle on the card with a Sakura Jelly Roll pen. You can't have glitter on the card for the protection of our Troops, so I hope this isn't too much.
Tomorrow is day 2 of the weekend and I hope you are all enjoying it. The weather was perfect here today, a perfect beach day and tomorrow looks like it will be perfect too. Whatever you do, relax and enjoy.
Happy Crafting, Linda
